GATHER
Gathering has always been a part of the Christian faith. Our desire is that as we gather for worship God would be exalted and His children will draw closer to Him as they seek to be obedient to His commands. Our main Gathering will be the Sunday morning worship service centered on The Word of God as we celebrate together through song, prayer, and fellowship.
GROW
Growing has always been the desire of God for the believer. We have many opportunities throughout the week for you and your family to take part in things that will help you grow in your faith. Home Groups, Youth Gatherings and bible study, Men and Ladies Bible Studies are all opportunities for you to grow deeper in your walk with God, and also deeper in relationship with other Christians.
GO
We believe one of the biggest ways that each of us can “Go” is to simply maintain a solid Christian testimony in our homes, in our workplace, and in everyday life. God has given us a story of grace and we must proclaim that message in all circles of life for His glory. We believe this is the first step to taking the Great Commission to all nations locally and globally.
Our Values
Gospel
We desire to see lives changed by the gospel. Everything we do is shaped by the gospel, which is the good news of what God has accomplished in the person of his Son – in His perfect life, sacrificial death, and victorious resurrection – to secure forgiveness of sins and fullness of life for all who will repent of their sin and believe in Jesus as Lord and Savior.
Community
The gospel creates a redeemed and transformed community. Magnolia Hill is committed to living life together & challenging one another to grow as disciples of Christ in the household of God.
Mission
We have been rescued & redeemed by a loving and missionary God. Therefore, we seek to join His mission by making disciples among all nations and loving our neighbors with the love of Christ.
About Us
In the summer of 2022
God called a group of believers out of their local church in the Denham Springs area to plant a new faith family in the Watson community. We are excited about the challenges and blessings that come with a new church plant while trusting in God’s sovereign plan for His church.
Our mission is to put God’s glory on display in all that we do. God and His word will be the primary focus in the pulpit, in our ministries, and in our missions both locally and Globally. We have a deep desire to see God’s people, the church, grow deep in their relationship with God and one another. This will equip us to be a unified witness to the Light in the middle of a dark world.

Leadership at Magnolia Hill
Jesus | The Good Shepherd
This is His church, and He is our Great Shepherd. Under the guidance of Jesus Christ and the leading of the Holy Spirit, every local church is blessed with leaders whom God has called and the congregation has affirmed to serve as undershepherds. These men are mature believers devoted to faithfully teaching the Word of God, walking daily with Christ, and encouraging others to do the same.
At The Church at Magnolia Hill, our leadership structure consists of elders—also referred to as pastors—who provide spiritual oversight, along with deacons and staff who serve faithfully under their direction.
Below is a list of the qualified men recognized and affirmed by the members of The Church at Magnolia Hill to shepherd and guide the spiritual life of our congregation.
Pastors | Elders
The Church at Magnolia Hill is an elder-led, deacon-facilitated, and congregationally governed church. We understand the roles of elder and pastor to be one and the same, referring to those called to shepherd and provide spiritual oversight to the body of Christ.

Jason Ray
Vision Setting, Preaching, & Gathering Pastor
Pastor Jason and his wife, Melissa, have served together in ministry since 2006. God has graciously blessed them with two sons, Hayden and Jake. Jason began full-time vocational ministry in 2005 and, in 2007, pursued a Master of Christian Education at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. He was licensed to the ministry in 2008—the same year God first burdened his heart for church planting. In 2009, he entered the Pastor/Elder candidacy process with Community Bible Church of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and was ordained as a Baptist pastor in 2011.
In 2008, under the clear leading of the Holy Spirit, the Rays were called to plant The Oaks Church in Denham Springs. After fourteen fruitful years of ministry there, God led them in 2022—along with several faithful members of The Oaks—to plant a new church in the Watson area, now known as The Church at Magnolia Hill. Jason and Melissa are filled with joy and anticipation as they look forward to all that God will accomplish through this growing body of believers.

Keith Goodson
Member Care, Education, & Discipleship Pastor
Pastor Keith and his wife, Casey, have served together in ministry since 2008. God has graciously blessed them with four children: a son, Elliott; a foster son, Tommy; and two daughters, Aveline and Eleanor. That same year, Keith entered full-time vocational ministry and was licensed as a Baptist minister of the Gospel. He was ordained as a pastor in 2015 and has faithfully served in various chaplaincy roles with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) and the Southern Baptist Convention (SBC), as well as in multiple pastoral positions within Baptist and Baptistic Bible churches across South Louisiana for more than seventeen years.
A Master of Divinity graduate from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary and a retired U.S. Air Force veteran, Keith brings both theological depth and servant-hearted experience to ministry. Though new to The Church at Magnolia Hill, Keith and Casey have shared a long-standing relationship with this fellowship since its beginning. They are eager to join in the work God is doing at The Hill and look forward with joy and anticipation to all He will continue to accomplish in and through this church within the community He has called them to serve.

Matt McCorkle
Student Minister
Matthew and his wife, Misty, joined our team in the summer of 2022 as we began praying about the work of church planting. Married in 2004, they are the proud parents of two sons, Maddox and Micah. In 2005, Matthew followed God’s call into student ministry and has faithfully served in a variety of roles since then. He has a deep passion to see the gospel transform the lives of young men and women as they mature and grow in the image of Christ. We are excited to see how God will continue to use Matthew to lead and disciple our students here at The Church at Magnolia Hill.
